- A Fun Ride From Moxee to Prosser and Back! Always the last full weekend in September. Save the dates of September 29th and 30th in 2012! Imagine…vineyard after vineyard with every color of grape you can envision, red delicious apples just being picked off trees, hop fields, cherry orchards, scenic country roads, livestock and farms, nearly a dozen different wineries, gently rolling hills, and 120 miles of amazing sun-soaked fun. This is the setting for the two-day bike trek from Yakima to Prosser and back. This trek brings riders to wineries and produce stands throughout our region. Then riders arrive in Prosser just in time for a gourmet dinner and to participate in Prosser’s Hot Air Balloon Festival. Sunday morning breakfast with the balloons in the sky, back on your bikes and head back thru wine country to Moxee for a BBQ after a day of wine tasting. All proceeds go to Kiwanis community and youth services projects. Registration includes our famous gourmet dinner on Saturday evening, the balloon glow, overnight camping (indoor and outdoor) in Prosser, Sunday morning breakfast, baggage transportation, and break stops. Stay overnight in a school gym or camp outdoors in Prosser. Mingle with Hot Air Balloon enthusiasts and enjoy a gourmet dinner, then attend a "Balloon Glow". A hearty Breakfast on Sunday morning and return on another route back to Yakima for a Bar B Que. Rest stops along the way provide a break and of course there are the wineries! Wine purchased will be hauled for you and await you at the end of the ride. Directions from Yakima Hotels to Start of Ride Take I-82 East on Exit Hwy 24, turn left (East on Nob Hill Blvd). Drive approx 5 miles to Beaudry Rd and make a left turn and proceed about 1 mile and school is on the East side of the street. Total distance from downtown Yakima is approx. 7 miles
