Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside Live at the Canoe Ridge Vineyard
Date:
June 25, 2013
Location:
Canoe Ridge Vineyard
Description:
Portland-based Sallie Ford and the Sound Outside is swinging into Walla Walla this coming June 25h. On the heels of a European tour, the group will highlight songs from their new album Untamed Beast. Sallie has performed on the David Letterman Show, Portlandia, and has opened for the Avett Brothers as well as Wanda Jackson. Here is what the critics are saying: Sounding not unlike a cross between Ella Fitzgerald and Tom Waits, Sallie Ford has established herself as one of the most powerful and unusual female voices in indie rock. On 2013’s Untamed Beast, Sallie Ford and her band create a powerful statement on finding freedom through defying conformity. Through clever and often racy turns of phrase, Ford twists traditional notions of gender and genre, finding the sweet spot between modern and vintage sounds. 'Untamed Beast' is the follow up to 2011's 'Dirty Radio' (Partisan Records) which Brooklyn Vegan called "phenomenal and monumental." In 2011 Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside made their national television debut on Letterman, were one of the most talked about new performers at Bonnaroo, the Newport Folk Fest and Bumbershoot, and were championed by Jack White and The Avett Brothers. Plus, The Slooches will open up the night and West of the Blues will be dishing up some amazing BBQ, so this is an industry-night event you won’t want to miss! Purchase your tickets at Canoe Ridge tasting room or online at http://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/265891. Limited $50 VIP tickets available if you want to meet Sallie Ford in person before the show plus get all drinks included!
