About Severino Cellars
Severino Cellars opened their tasting room doors in August of 2007 in Zillah (the heart of wine country). Severino Cellars is owned and operated by Jay and Linda Spurlock, their son Jay Spurlock III, and their daughter and son-in-law Nikki and Severino Samaniego. Family, friends, good wine and good times are what we focus on. We have converted a turn-of-the-century farm house into our tasting room. People seem to love that warm charm the house gives off all by itself, and that’s before they taste any wine! Our vineyard is located north of our tasting room in the Rattlesnake Hills. We planted our vineyard, made up of Riesling, Viognier, Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, in the spring of 2006. Jay Spurlock III is our vineyard manager; however we have all spent endless hours in the vineyard. Great grapes make great wine. We are looking forward to 2008 when we will get to harvest our first vintage. The tasting room is run by Linda and her daughter Nikki. Occasionally you will catch one of the boys in the tasting room but not often. Both ladies have been in the Yakima Valley for over 25 years and are very knowledgeable about wine and the growth of our valley. Severino is our winemaker. He has taken classes at Central Washington University and, more importantly, has countless hours of “on the job” training. If you see him during the month of October he won’t be hard to miss. Just look for the guy with the purple hands! That leaves Jay (or dad). You will usually find him outside “fixing” something. If you happen to purchase a case of wine he will gladly carry that out to your car as well. We all have the same philosophy: we love our family, friends, good wine and most importantly we love creating new memories. We would love to have you be our guests, sample some wine, take some home and create new memories of your own.

News and Updates from Severino Cellars
Harvest is just around the corner and this year brings our first harvest from the Severino Vineyard! We will be picking Riesling and Viognier to be bottled in the spring of 2009. Don't forget fall is a fantastic time to visit wine country, harvest, leaves changing color and don't forget the sunshine. Mark your calendar for Thanksgiving in the wine country November 28th-30th.
