Our Story

Experience a “Taste of Red Mountain” on the west side of the Cascade Mountains at the Col Solare Bottega tasting room and wine shop, located within Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville.

Open by appointment seven days a week, the Bottega offers visitors the opportunity to taste, purchase and enjoy Col Solare wines and preview the guest experience at the winery’s stunning Red Mountain Estate and Vineyard.

Col Solare, translated as "shining hill" in Italian, is the esteemed winemaking partnership between two influential wine producers who are recognized leaders in their respective regions: Washington State’s Chateau Ste. Michelle and the legendary Marchesi Antinori of Tuscany.

From its inaugural 1995 vintage, Col Solare’s mission has been to unite these two unique viticultural and winemaking cultures to produce a world-class Cabernet Sauvignon-based red wine from the very best grapes of the Columbia Valley, a wine that will age for decades but is also meant to be enjoyed soon after purchase.

The Col Solare Bottega at Chateau Ste. Michelle offers private tasting appointments for individuals and small groups daily from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Each 45-minute appointment includes an overview of the Col Solare story and tasting of three vintages of the Col Solare Bordeaux-style blend, at a cost of $20 per guest.
