We are Vancouver, Washington’s first winery. Our founder, Carl English, first planted grapes in 1980 on land his family has owned since 1903. The winery and tasting room opened to the public in 2000.

Our wines are handcrafted from vines we tend year round. On occasion, we blend with other wines produced in Washington state to round out flavors and create something really unique.
We are located at the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge in Southwest Washington State. As a result, we have many of the same characteristics of the Willamette Valley region in Oregon. As such, our primary focus for a long time has been estate-grown Pinot Noir, of which we have about four acres. We also grow perhaps Western Washington’s only Cabernet Sauvignon (only a quarter acre, but what a quarter acre!)
We’ve always had a test vineyard with several varieties of white wines that have traditionally blended together for a white table wine. In 2005, however, we planted about two acres of four white varietals that have always done well in the test vineyard and are particularly well suited to our climate: Pinot Gris, Semillon, Gevürstraminer and Sauvignon Blanc.
