About Kiona Vineyards Winery

Kiona Vineyards was blessed with a rare pioneering opportunity. We discovered the unique terroir of the un-farmed, southern steppes of Red Mountain and planted the first vineyards there in 1975. We produced our first wines in 1980. The exceptional quality of Kiona wines and those of others who purchased Kiona wine grapes was immediately recognized and spurred spontaneous interest in the infant Red Mountain area. Others were quick to follow! We are very proud of our Red Mountain heritage and our part in establishing the Red Mountain AVA as a World Class artisan viticulture area.
