About San Juan Vineyards
San Juan Vineyards was established in 1996. The tasting room is in an 1896 schoolhouse, one of two remaining in the San Juans. We have 6 acres of cool-climate varietal grapes, Siegerrebe, Madeleine Angevine & Pinot Noir. We produce and bottle approximately 4500 total cases yearly. One third of our production comes from our Estate Varietals. We also source grapes from Eastern Washington grape growers including Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Sangiovese and Syrah. Our vineyard manager & winemaker, Chris J Primus, joined us in 2006 after working in the Willamette Valley of Oregon making Pinot Noir. Chris' academic background is in Chemical Engineering. Chris enjoys making Puget Sound AVA white wines which are known for being lower in alochol & higher in acidity.
