Avennia, Oliane

We believe Washington State can make Sauvignon Blanc that competes with the world’s finest. Oliane, an old name from the Peterson family, is barrel fermented in French Oak (10% new) using native yeast and aged sur lies for 8 months. It is bottled unfined to allow for greatest expression and complexity. 2011 Oliane — The aroma is pure Sauvignon Blanc, with tangelo and grapefruit aromas highlighted by wisps of savory herb, mineral, and straw. The cool 2011 vintage brings food-friendly verve to the palate, and a rich, creamy mouthfeel, with citrus and herb notes peppered throughout. The Oliane should drink great upon release, and even last a few years in the cellar.
