Barnard Griffin Winery, Barnard Griffin Reserve Viognier

Pear, lime-laced nose, revealing hints of ginger and cantaloupe. Very refreshing attack of candied apricots and pear fruit. Glassy texture, nicely supported by snappy acidity. A very well-balanced, satisfying dry white wine; stellar as a stand-alone, or try it with cheese plates and mildly flavored appetizers. Cool fermented in stainless steel to dryness. Vineyards: Gunkel Vineyard (Columbia Valley, Eastern Columbia River Gorge), Alder Creek Vineyard (Horse Heaven Hills), Brazinski Vineyard (Red Mountain)
