Barrel Springs Winery, BS RED

Our 2008 Barrel Springs Red (B.S. Red) is made from handpicked estate grown grapes. This is an eclectic blend of grapes from a great year. The blend of three different varietals is masterful. We have 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Franc from the Yakima and Columbia Valley respectively. It has been aged for 24 months on new French barrels, and we perceive intense flavors of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, chocolate, raspberries, cassis, and sweet prunes. It has an intense, luscious lingering finish. This wine will complement aged grilled meats, rack of lamb and meat pasta dishes, hard cheeses like Parmesan or Grana Padano and it will pair well with chocolate truffles or Black Forest Chocolate Cake.
