Belmonte Cellars, Syrah

Winemaker's Tasting Notes - "Cool climate in style, incredibly balanced with natural lower alcohol but at the same time not to be confused with Old World lean wines…perhaps the perfect combination for expressing what a cool climate style Syrah is meant to be." Its aroma is unmistakably Syrah with a bit of black pepper, dark fruit and integrated oak. The aroma borders between red and dark cherries, with a little blackberries as well. The mouth-feel is silky and rich. We think the 2009 Syrah will match well with red meat stews, aged gouda’s, pizza and seared lamb shanks. 66% Lonesome Spring Ranch Vineyard (Columbia Valley) / 34% Double Canyon Vineyard (Horse Heaven Hills)
