We are proud to introduce our new Chef, Kristin Swaggart. Kristin has created a tapa inspired menu to be featured at JBistro inside J Bookwalter Winery. Look for Kristin's new menu November 25th, 2011 Kristin took an unconventional road to becoming a chef. After a fulfilling career in finance, she decided to stay home and raise her two sons. During her 13 years as a homemaker, she taught herself how to cook in order to provide healthy, nutritious meals for her family. Her youngest son was born with severe food allergies, and ultimately inspired her to become a chef. In 2009 she entered culinary school and recently graduated with honors. She is a certified culinarian with the American Culinary Federation, and the Chef & Child Chair for her local ACF chapter. She is passionate about ending childhood hunger and obesity. “Chef K” likes to create familiar food using fresh, local ingredients, and a little bit of her sass. She is from Pendleton, OR and has been married to her husband Blake for 15 years.

Our Story

Situated on four acres of vineyards, Bookwalter boasts beautiful gardens and a relaxing atmospere. We offer tasting 7 days a week from 11am until 5pm. Bookwalter Winery is the first in Washington to offer a Wine Bistro, we offer a light culinary menu, wine for purchase by the glass or bottle and live music Wednesday through Saturday evenings 6pm-10pm. Open until 11pm Wednesday-Saturday. Hours: Sun-Tues:11am-8pm & Wed-Sat: 11am-11pm
