Our Story

Our unique winery is located in the majestic Columbia Gorge AVA. We have been producing wine from the vineyard's Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes since 2003 and have since added Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Estate Field Blend, and Estate San Crispin field blend. Our wines reflect the meticulous care we give to the vineyard and the mastery of our winemaker, Peter Brehm.

About our Winemaker:
Peter Brehm has been producing fine wines for over 35 years, and growing grapes for 20 years. He started as a home winemaker in 1970 and shortly after established and operated a retail store selling winemaking supplies, including fresh grapes. He has worked for other wineries and vineyards, notably in the Napa Valley and Australia. In 1989 he purchased on old pear orchard and transformed it into one of the most beautiful vineyards in the Gorge. Peter has been actively involved in the wine grape industry for 40 years and has made innovative contributions to the industry throughout his career.

Our Vineyard:
Previously an aging pear orchard, White Salmon Vineyard is now home to 20 acres of fine wine grapes. We grow primarily Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and other varietals include Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Malbec, and our newest planting, White Riesling.

The region's cool climate, eastern slope, volcanic soil and carefully planned mix of clones, combine to provide a terrior for world-class grapes.

Our Tasting Room and Cafe:
WSV tasting room and cafe is housed in the historic Underwood Mercantile building in Underwood, WA. Our views of the Columbia River, Mount Hood, and the glorious Columbia River add to your tasting experience. We have a fine selection of wines including Estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Estate San Crispin Cuvée, Big White Chardonnay, and our red and white blends. Come and see us and judge for yourself.
