Wind Rose Cellars, 2009 Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is seldom grown outside the borders of Italy. We believe growing area of Wahluke Slope is ideal for making great Nebbiolos. Our style is similar to the Barbaresco style, where the wine is traditionally aged for 2 years before release. We aged this wine 22 months in large french barrels. The color is a light hue of ruby red. The wine opens with aromas of pipe tobacco and savory herbs. On the pal-ate it is dominated by cherry and plum fla-vors which linger into a cranberry finish. The wine is supported by dusty tannins that leave you wanting more and more. Please enjoy with hearty meat dishes such as pot roast, lamb, pork or beef.
