To help you maximize Taste Washington Wine Month, we have a digital toolkit for download below. We hope these assets will help you tell your story, energize your fans, connect with new club members, and educate your communities about why Washington is the most exciting wine region on the planet.

How to Make Your Wine Month a Success

We are fortunate to have footholds for two wine months every year: in March and August. Our goal for both months is to provide a platform to help your creative marketing efforts shine, and to bring us all under one big umbrella for the largest collective impact. The more wineries doing their own events and promotions and helping to spread awareness, the more successful the whole month will be.

Use this opportunity to engage your wine club members, to reach new fans, and to partner with local restaurants and retailers in your area. We’ll be there to support those efforts by offering you branding options, giving you promotional messaging ideas, and using targeted advertising to create buzz throughout the state.

Ideas we’ve seen that work include:

  • Personalized events for your wine club members
  • Winemaker dinners with the restaurants that support you most
  • Vineyard walk-throughs and behind the scenes tours
  • Themed happy hours
  • Lawn games and prize giveaways
  • Discounts on wine club membership, case sales, or shipping
  • Special pours in the tasting room
  • Social media trivia contests
  • Library vintage wines only available for the month

The options are endless, so get creative and get your message out using some of the tools provided below and don’t forget to submit your events to our website calendar!

The Washington Wine License Plate is Available!

Washington lawmakers passed House Bill 1530 in Spring 2022 to create the specialty license plate, after more than 4,000 Washingtonians signed a petition in support. The Washington Wine Institute, in partnership with the Washington State Wine Commission (WSWC), worked directly with prime sponsor Rep. Kelly Chambers (R-Puyallup), and lawmakers in Olympia to pass the legislation. The WSWC worked with its agency of record Chapter & Verse to design the plate, utilizing a photograph taken by Andréa Johnson.

Revenue generated from the specialty license plate will go to State of Washington Tourism (SWT), the state’s official Destination Marketing Organization.

Help share the exciting news!

Happy Tasting!
