Cascade Cliffs began planting vinifera vines in 1986. The 20 acre vineyard, situated on a bench two hundred feet above the Columbia River, is backed by 400 foot tall basalt cliffs. Light reflection off the river to the south supplies an abundance of light to the vines, while heat is captured in the cliffs to the north and radiated back onto the vineyard. Cascade Cliffs is an earth friendly grower, utilizing organic and bio-dynamic strategies and techniques throughout the vineyard.
