Yakima Valley Vintners produces between 300 and 500 cases per year. Our award winning wines were first released during the 2008 Yakima Valley Spring Barrel Tasting. Produced by the students of the Vineyard & Winery Technology Program, these wines have now garnered more 70 awards over the last eight vintages.

  • Alumno Albarino

    • Overview

    • Tasting Notes

    • You will find that this Albarino is smooth and refreshing with aromas of fresh apricots, pineapple and a hint of banana. The wine exhibits exceptional depth of flavors ranging from green apple, to Asian pear, and melon. This uniquely created wine pairs well with steamed clams, sushi, and white fish. Relax and enjoy!

  • Easy A Chardonnay

    • Overview

    • Tasting Notes

    • At the beginning you will experience apples, grilled pear, and candied aromas, followed by a smooth toasted marshmallow finish leaves you wanting another sip. Sit back, relax, and enjoy. This wine and its sister "Study Skills" Chardonnay are fermented as one lot for the initial fermentation. The Easy A portion is then moved to its own tank and lightly oaked and taken through malolactic fermentation to soften the acids and add a creamier finish.

  • Study Skills Chardonnay

    • This un-oaked Chardonnay has aromas of apple, pear, mandarin orange and honey. The balanced acidity and honeysuckle finish would pair well with seafood or fruit salsa. This wine is un-oaked and along with its sister, "Easy A" Chardonnay are fermented as one lot for the initial fermentation. The Easy A portion is then moved to its own tank and lightly oaked and taken through malolactic fermentation to soften the acids and add a creamier finish.

  • Textbook White Gewurztraminer

    • Overview

    • Tasting Notes

    • Using grapes from a higher elevation vineyard, this off-dry Gewurztraminer is balanced and fruity. It expresses flavors of peach, pear, spice, and lychee. The crisp acidity and fruity finish pairs well with spicy foods and grilled seafood or chicken.

  • Mid-Term Merlot

    • This elegant medium bodied Merlot has aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry and plum, with hints of cocoa. Smooth flavors of spice, oak and cloves provide a lingering finish.
