Our Wines

  • 2014 Columbia Valley Cabernet Franc

    • Overview

    • Tasting Notes

    • The wine that started all. Cabernet Franc has been a part of the Walla Walla Vintners’ lineup since our first vintage in 1995, gaining fame for itself and building a reputation of quality for the winery that we pride above all else. A warm, ripe year, the Cabernet Franc from the 2014 vintage shows blackberry, blueberry and violet aromas backed with pencil shavings and freshly mown grass. Silky tannins balance vibrant acidity on the palate, finishing like dessert in a glass, blackberry cheesecake and crème brulee.

  • 2014 Walla Walla Valley Dolcetto

    • Overview

    • Tasting Notes

    • In 2009 David Jones (Vineyard Manager) had his one acre parcel come available. He offered it to a very select few of his existing customers. We quickly and greedily snapped it all up. That first vintage sold out in a matter of weeks and we knew we had a hit on our hands. Only a few short years later, this summertime sipper barely lasts through spring before selling out. Beautifully dark, the 2014 offers aromas of black cherry, cranberry and red currant with hints of vanilla and spice. Raspberry takes over on the palate with more cherry, oak and mocha. Great acidity and balance lead to an extended finish of plum and fine-grained tannins.

      • Dolcetto
      • $20 - $30
      • Walla Walla Valley
  • 2013 Walla Walla Valley Estate Syrah

    • Overview

    • Tasting Notes

    • Location, location, location! This Blue Mountain foothill vineyard, planted in 2008 with Syrah clones from Tablas Creek and Joseph Phelps, produces a wine that is always savory while showing restraint in its ripeness and soft tannins. The sweet Pennsylvania tobacco nose is followed by a middle of rich milk chocolate that takes you to a velvety finish of ripe dark cherry, blackberry and hints of roasted coffee. It is perfectly balanced and lacks nothing - awaiting a discriminating taster to enjoy its pleasures. It drinks superbly now, if decanted, and will age incredibly well.

  • 2014 Columbia Valley Sangiovese

    • Overview

    • Tasting Notes

    • Debuting in 1999, Sangiovese was a tip of the cap to Gordy’s Italian heritage. It quickly became one of our most requested varietals. Now, despite being over 10% of our total annual production, we still have trouble keeping on our shelves. The 2014 vintage features strawberry, cherry and pomegranate aromas with hints of tea leaves and anise. It opens to flavors of tart cherry and red currant, deftly balanced with racy acidity and fine-grained tannins.

      • Sangiovese
      • $20 - $30

  • 2013 Washington State Cuvée

    • Overview

    • Tasting Notes

    • Walla Walla Vintners is known for our unique skills in blending varietals, vineyards, oaks and AVAs. The 2013 Cuvée is a prime example of our artistic work. All six Bordeaux noble red grapes are in this mix from eleven selected vineyards and then cradled in oak from America, France and Hungry for 19 months. This delicious Cuvée opens with a chocolate covered cherry nose followed on the palate by fig chutney with sweet roasted fresh garden tomatoes and eggplant. The long finish brings to mind herb de Provence on lamb chops. Yum!

  • 2013 Walla Walla Valley Merlot

    • Overview

    • Tasting Notes

    • The attention-getting nose of cedar, oak and violet jumps from the glass and takes you to a sweet espresso beginning, a thick middle of wild huckleberry jam and a finish that dances with flavors of caramel, mocha, leather and fresh black Mission fig.

  • 2013 Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

    • Overview

    • Tasting Notes

    • The most widely planted red grape variety in Washington State is right at home at Walla Walla Vintners. Cabernet Sauvignon has been the crown jewel of our lineup since the winery’s first vintage, 1995. A warm 2013 provided a lush, ripe Cabernet. Wafts of violets and woody herbs envelop a heart of pure, black fruit; blackberry, currant and plum. Velvety tannins deliver black cherry flavors dotted with cinnamon, anise and clove, turning to cassis, currant and cedar on a lingering, earthy finish.
