Washington Winery Targets Restaurant Enthusiasts through New “Foodie Fridays” Columbia Winery’s Friday evening happy hour offers a new twist on food and wine pairings Woodinville, Wash. – Starting in November 2014, Columbia Winery will launch a new look to its popular happy hour series, featuring a rotation of “Foodie Fridays”, live music, and trivia. “Foodie Fridays” will fall on the first and third Friday of the month, offering a culinary experience that isn’t normally offered at the winery. Some dishes designed to pair with Columbia’s premium wines include gourmet sliders, savory Jambalaya, and Mexican inspired street tacos, as well as vegetarian and Gluten Free options. Familiar food options, such as Columbia Winery’s signature wood-fired flatbreads will still be offered throughout happy hour, as well as discounted wines by the glass and bottle. “The food is wine friendly with inspiration drawn from friends and family” said Tim Pockrandt, Head Chef at Columbia Winery. “Traditional fare with modern flare.” During “Foodie Fridays” guests are encouraged to post photos of their food and wine pairings on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, with #columbiafoodiefriday for a chance to win gift cards to use towards their purchases at the winery in the future. The event will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday in our tasting room at 40504 N. Demoss Rd., with the Ribbon Cutting at 1:00 PM, and the festivities extending to 5:00 PM. Attendees can expect waived tasting fees, snacks, entertainment, and winery tours of our new facility. The Red Ribbon Event will also kick off our Toast to a Cure fundraiser starting Saturday the 25th of July, from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM. We will be featuring wood fired pizza, several wine related vendors, raffles, and games with prizes. We are also going to have live music on our scenic back porch from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Our goal is to raise $10,000 this year for Diabetic Research that is aimed to increase the quality of life for individuals struggling with diabetes. We hope to meet this goal by donating $1 for every bottle of wine we sell, as well as launching an online donation based campaign. We are also donating any funds collected from the wide array of games and raffles that we will be hosting for that day to the cause.
