Friday, October 03rd Live @ Sapolil - Big Monti Amundson w/Coyote Kings Groovy Blues/R&B/Soul
Date:
October 3, 2014
Location:
S
Description:
Walla Walla’s own Rockin’ Blues and Bluesy Rock Band is joined by Big Monti Amundson. His name is Monti Amundson but most people call him Big Monti. Not just because of the man’s physical appearance, but also because of his obvious talent and sheer presence. When Big Monti takes the stage, it’s clear that there’s more going on than the usual extended guitar solos – the man plays and sings larger than life. When Monti gets compared to Stevie Ray Vaughan or Johnny Winter he just says “thank you.” The fact is, the big man has his own style. “I’m a blues guitar player in a band that plays rock n’ roll,” is how Monti explains it. He doesn’t so much as straddle the line between the genres as bend it, ignore it, or race back and forth across it until both sides go up in flames. The blues of Big Monti comes straight from the heart, cuts through your soul and is as real as it gets. 9 – Midnight Cover: $5 For more info: 509-520-1273 Enjoy a Full Bar, open until 2 a.m. Featuring Sapolil Cellars Wine, Beer on Tap and by the Bottle, and a full menu of hard liquor libations. Friday, October 17th Live @ Sapolil - Jamie Wyatt & The Big Bang Rock/Folk-Rock
Date:
October 17, 2014
Location:
Sapolil Cellars

Move over Sheryl Crow. Just like you did, Jaime Wyatt straddles the lines that cross the worlds of rock and folk in order to create intelligent pop. With a voice that’s sometimes compared to Chrissie Hynde, Wyatt — who’s also a member of the all-female Americana trio Calico — sings ballads and rockers that would appeal to fans of Lucinda Williams, the Bangles and Shawn Colvin. A native of Tacoma, Wash., Wyatt currently is recording a new album and already has seen one of her tunes, “Mind Candy,” covered by Tiffany, of ‘80s pop-radio fame, has had her music featured on TV, and released two EPs with the group American Bloomers, as well as a full-length album with Calico. 9 – Midnight Cover $5 For more info: 509-520-1273 Enjoy a Full Bar, open until 2 a.m. Featuring Sapolil Cellars Wine, Beer on Tap and by the Bottle, and a full menu of hard liquor libations. Saturday, October 25th Live @ Sapolil - Red Jacket Mine Funk/Rock/Folk/Eclectic
Date:
October 25, 2014
Location:
Sapolil Cellars
Description:
What is the Seattle sound? Truth is it changes. Frequently. Garage rock reigned in the mid-’60s. Grunge exploded out of the Emerald City in the early ’90s and the world is still reeling. Today, hip-hop acts like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Shabazz Palaces, and Blue Scholars rule the roost. Red Jacket Mine sounds like none of these. Led by songwriter Lincoln Barr, this quartet proudly calls Seattle home, but you’d be hard-pressed to pinpoint the guys’ area code simply by spinning their superlative new album, Someone Else’s Cake. At first blush, this batch of eleven originals seems more like a product of England in the aftermath of punk, when angry young men such as Graham Parker, Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, and Messrs. Difford and Tilbrook of Squeeze spilled out of the pubs and elbowed their way into the UK charts. (There’s even a hint of graphic design innovator Barney Bubbles in Shawn Wolfe‘s cover art.) But pay closer attention. Trust me, it isn’t hard. Someone Else’s Cake brims with melodies and lyrics that reveal new, deeper charms with repeated spins. http://redjacketmine.net/ 9 - Midnight Cover: $5 For more info: 509-520-1273 Enjoy a Full Bar, open until 2 a.m. Featuring Sapolil Cellars Wine, Beer on Tap and by the Bottle, and a full menu of hard liquor libations.
