Our Story
Wilridge Vineyard is located on Naches Heights, an ancient flow of Andesite Lava from near Mount Rainier that stopped at Yakima, Washington. One million years of volcanic eruptions have deposited deep Loess soils on Naches Heights that are perfect for growing grapes. Twenty-two different varieties of grapes are planted at Wilridge Vineyard in a ten acre test block, including all the major Bordeaux varieties, four Port varieties, Syrah, Viognier, Rousanne, Sangiovese, Barbera, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Moscato and the United States' first certified planting of Sagrantino. The vineyard is located next to the Cowiche Canyon Nature Preserve, which includes miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, climbing walls and some of the best bird watching in Washington State. A branch of the Wines of Washington Tasting Room is located at the vineyard in a 1900's era farmhouse and features over twenty wines for tasting daily from Washington wineries Harlequin Cellars, Mountain Dome (sparkling), Naches Heights Vineyard and Wilridge Winery. The vineyard is located only 2.5 hours from Seattle and Portland. Please bring a picnic and your walking shoes!
