Our Story

Fidelitas, Latin for faithful, loyal and true, is a family-owned winery on Red Mountain. Veteran winemaker and owner, Charlie Hoppes, recently celebrated his 22nd harvest in the Washington wine industry. Fidelitas is faithful to Cabernet Sauvignon, loyal to classic Bordeaux winemaking techniques, and true to Washington State’s unique terroir. Fidelitas wines are handcrafted and aged in small lots, creating wines of exceptional character, varietal expression and structure.
Fidelitas makes its home on Red Mountain, a small appellation growing some of the most sought after fruit in Washington state. The “modern shed” tasting room offers visitors the opportunity to experience the highly acclaimed wines of Fidelitas while taking in sweeping views of Red Mountain and on through the Yakima Valley. Fidelitas planted its own Red Mountain estate vineyard with three clones of Cabernet Sauvignon in the spring of 2009.
