The Washington State Wine Commission Board of Directors awarded almost $1 million in research grants for the upcoming year for the statewide grape and wine research program and its own grant program. The Board approved 19 projects totaling $992,000 for the upcoming fiscal year (July 2023-June 2024). The projects approved are funded through the statewide program administered by WSU that combines contributions from WSU, Washington Wine, Auction of Washington Wines and state liter taxes (1/4 cent per liter of all wine sold) and through Washington Wine’s own grant program.
