Summer is here and WAugust is right around the corner! Traditionally known as Washington Wine Month, WAugust is a fresh, new campaign that celebrates our vibrant industry with 31 days of fun and festivities that you can join in and truly make your own.

From road trips to backyard barbecues, there’s something special about August in Washington. WAugust bottles that summer feeling we all know and love, and pairs it with its greatest companion: Washington Wine. Inspired by the energy of a summer music festival, WAugust provides the stage for a 31-day state-wide wine party that can be experienced by fans at wineries, tasting rooms, restaurants, grocery stores and backyards across our grape state.

We’ve got opportunities for wineries of all sizes and across the state to get involved, so download the toolkits below and take advantage of all the excitement and join in on the celebration.

How to Make Your Wine Month a Success

We are fortunate to have footholds for two wine months every year: in March and August. Our goal for both months is to provide a platform to help your creative marketing efforts shine, and to bring us all under one big umbrella for the largest collective impact. The more wineries doing their own events and promotions and helping to spread awareness, the more successful the whole month will be.

Use this opportunity to engage your wine club members, to reach new fans, and to partner with local restaurants and retailers in your area. We’ll be there to support those efforts by offering you branding options, giving you promotional messaging ideas, and using targeted advertising to create buzz throughout the state.

Ideas we’ve seen that work include:
• Special events for your wine club members
• Winemaker dinners with the restaurants that support you most
• Virtual vineyard walk-throughs
• Themed happy hours
• Discounts on wine club membership, case sales or shipping
• Special pours in the tasting room Social media trivia contests
• Library vintage wines only available for the month.

The options are endless, so get creative and get your message out using some of the tools provided below.
