L'Ecole N° 41, located in the historic Frenchtown School depicted on our label, is a third generation and family-owned winery operated by Marty and Megan Clubb. Founded in 1983, we are the third oldest winery in the Walla Walla Valley. We are engaged in growing and making 100% of our wines. We focus on terroir-driven, distinctive wines from many of the oldest and most proven vineyards in the Walla Walla and Columbia Valleys.     • This complex and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the diversity of terroir in the Walla WAlla Valley from vineyards planted in wind-blown loess (our Estate Seven Hills Vineyard, Loess Vineyard), ice-age flood silts (Va Piano and Pepper Bridge) and basalt river rock (Yellow Jacket). These prestigious vineyards are certified Sustainable and Salmon Safe.

    • Some of the best Chardonnays in Washington State are grown in the slightly cooler growing conditions of Yakima Valley and in the northern latitudes of the Columbia Valley. The Schmitt Vineyard (Yakima Valley) provides nice tropical fruit, while Evergreen (latitude 47 on the Columbia River) contributes crisp acidity and minerality.

    • Apogee was the first wine produced from Pepper Bridge Vineyard (1993) and shows its characteristic spicy, bold and dark fruit flavors with a rich structure, well-integrated tannins and a long finish.

  • Estate Cabernet Franc - Seven Hills Vineyard - Walla Walla Valley

    • Our Block 8 Cabernet Franc (planted 1997) from Seven Hills Vineyard historically played a blending role in our Estate Perigee and Estate Merlot. However with vines maturing, we had sufficient production to produce in addition, a small specialty bottling of this varietal in 2006, and now again in 2009. In 13th leaf with this vintage, this robustly balanced and integrated wine shows a rich concentration of complex flavors that demanded to be bottled on its own

    • L’Ecole is ‘old school’ in our winemaking traditions. We are engaged in growing and making 100% of all of our wines. Once our upper tier red wines are blended and complete, remaining wine is allocated to our Red Wine blend. In addition, this wine contains the press fraction collected from selected vineyard lots. Our customers appreciate the quality attention we give this wine and often refer to Red Wine as the great value wine from L’Ecole!

    • This wine is a blend of several premium vineyards including: Bacchus & Dionysus, Stone Tree, our Estate Seven Hills Vineyard, Klipsun, Milbrandt, Stillwater, Mirage, Weinbau, Pepper Bridge and Candy Mountain. Many of these vines were planted in the 1970’s and early 1980’s resulting in an average vine age of over 20 years. Each of these vineyards is highly managed for yield and balance.
